Sand Art is and original two dimensional art that Ken has worked with for many years. It
is very unique in that it consists of beach sand and glue applied in layers over a base
core such as wood. The process is repeated over and over until the desired amount of
relief is achieved. After complete drying, the piece is stained and highlighted. The
finished art looks very much like carved sand stone. All pieces are clear coated with an
acrylic spray to protect the finish. Leaves, flowers, trees, fish and birds are some of the
many subjects Ken enjoys working with. Both the unusual texture and color of these
pieces add to the beauty of the art work.
